{"id":47,"date":"2015-05-05T13:21:39","date_gmt":"2015-05-05T13:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/step.esa.int\/main\/?page_id=47"},"modified":"2024-04-17T16:12:56","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T16:12:56","slug":"home-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/step.esa.int\/main\/","title":{"rendered":"Scientific Toolbox Exploitation Platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ESA\u00a0 is developing\u00a0 <strong>free open source toolboxes<\/strong> for the scientific exploitation of <strong>Earth Observation missions<\/strong> under the the Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions (SEOM)\u00a0 programme element.\u00a0 <strong>STEP<\/strong> is the ESA <strong>community platform<\/strong> for accessing the software and its documentation, communicating with the developers, dialoguing within the science community, promoting results and achievements as well as providing tutorials and material for training scientists using the Toolboxes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ESA toolboxes support the <strong>scientific exploitation<\/strong> for the <strong>Sentinels 1\/2\/3<\/strong> missions,\u00a0<strong>ERS-ENVISAT<\/strong> missions, and a range of <strong>National<\/strong> and <strong>Third Party<\/strong> missions. The two toolboxes are called respectively &#8220;Optical Toolbox&#8221; and &#8220;Microwave Toolbox&#8221; and share a common architecture called\u00a0<strong>SNAP<\/strong>.\u00a0The toolboxes contain IO\/support for the sensors mentioned as well as generic and sensor specific processing operators.\u00a0They also contain some functionalities of historical toolboxes such as BEAM, NEST and Orfeo Toolbox that were developed over the last years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"step-cards-container step-cards-sm\">\t<div class=\"step-card list-card page active\">\n\t\t\t\t<div
