The Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS), nicknamed "Daichi", was a Japanese Earth-observation satellite, developed by JAXA. ALOS included the PRISM, AVNIR-2, and PALSAR sensors. PALSAR was the SAR sensor.
Operational: 2006-01-24 to 2011-05-12
Frequency Band: L-band
Acquisition Modes: Stripmap, ScanSAR
Product Types: L1.1 (SLC), L1.5 (GRD)
Polarizations: Single Pol (HH), Dual Pol (HH+HV) and Full Pol (HH+HV+VV+VH)
Opening products: Products can be opened by selecting the Volume file. Opening zipped products (*.zip) directly is also supported.
Special Considerations: SLC data provided by JAXA are generated with Non-Zero-Doppler. The ALOS Deskewing operator should be applied prior to coregistration or terrain correction.
SLCs provided by ESA are in Zero-Doppler annotation and do not require deskewing.
