EMIT Reader

These readers allow to read Level-1B and Level-2A data of the EMIT1 mission. The Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT) instrument measures surface mineralogy, targeting the Earth?s arid dust source regions. EMIT is installed on the International Space Station (ISS) and uses imaging spectroscopy to take mineralogical measurements of sunlit regions of interest2 between 52 N latitude and 52 S latitude.

Level-1B

The Level-1B reader (format: EMIT_L1B) reads a EMIT_L1B_RAD_*.nc file and the ancillary file EMIT_L1B_OBS_*.nc if it is located next to the radiance file into one data product.

Level-2A

The Level-2A reader (format: EMIT_L2A) reads a EMIT_L2A_RFL_*.nc file. The mask file EMIT_L2A_MASK_*.nc and the uncertainty file EMIT_L2A_RFLUNCERT_*.nc are optionally read into one data product. They must be located in the same directory as the reflectance file.
